PROJECT ENGINEER AND CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT

Job Description:

We're looking for individuals with an engineering or builder's mindset- people who love solving problems, designing systems, and bringing ideas to life, regardless of formal training. 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineering and Construction Assistant to support our project management, engineering, and construction teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basic computer systems and software and the ability to navigate efficiently. This role involves assisting with project estimates, billing, and various project administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities: 

  •  Estimating and Takeoffs: Use Bluebeam software to perform takeoffs for estimates, including calculating lengths of pipe, square footages of driveways, and other project components. 

  • T&M Billing: Break down Time and Materials (T&M) billing by bid items in Excel, ensuring accuracy and detail for further processing into bills. 

  • Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, including organizing project documentation, tracking project progress, and maintaining project profiles.

  • Communication: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution. 

  • Learning and Adaptability: Quickly learn and adapt to new software and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Additional experience in engineering or construction management is a plus.

  • Skills: Proficiency in basic computer systems. Familiarity with Excel and willingness to learn programs such as Bluebeam software.

  • Experience: Previous experience in construction or engineering support roles is preferred but not required. 

  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative
